The tide went out further than anyone could remember, and the boats leaned over in the mud like animals asleep. Check the tide tables for October — it matters more than it sounds, because everything after this depends on how long the flats stayed dry.
Ada had walked out there twice before, once as a child with her father and once alone. Both times are written down in The harbour, which is where the names of the boats are kept.
She went back for the tide tables and found them where she had left them, under the tin on the second shelf, still folded to the page her father had marked.

The Windows app keeps the library in one file on your disk, while every page keeps its own revisions. There is no sync indicator because there is nothing to sync.
Saved before you think about saving
PalmaNote saves half a second after you stop typing, then again when you leave the page, switch tabs or close the window. It never blocks a keystroke.
A history for every page
During active writing, PalmaNote keeps a snapshot about every two minutes and another when you leave. Enough history to recover a thought without filling the disk with near-identical copies.

Your pages are stored by this browser on this computer. Nothing is uploaded, and the app keeps working when the network is off.
An exit is always available
Export one page or the whole library as Word, Markdown, PDF or a folder of files. Your writing never has to stay inside the app.
One thing worth knowing: clearing this browser’s site data also clears its local PalmaNote library, and that library does not follow you to another computer. Keep an export of anything important, or use the Windows app for a library file on disk with nightly backups.

New
- Trash now opens as a focused modal, so restoring or permanently removing pages never interrupts the page you were writing.
- Commented text carries the same small coloured note marker as its linked sticky, making the connection visible at a glance.
Refined
- Active tabs are easier to distinguish, the brand blue stays consistent in light and dark mode, and tab reordering now shifts neighbouring tabs like a browser.
- Small controls respond more deliberately: tabs, buttons, modals and cards now use the same restrained motion language, with reduced-motion support intact.
Fixed
- Showing the notes rail again restores the existing note instead of creating a duplicate.
